Welcome to our website.

CARES is a group of carers and former carers who raise funds to support unpaid carers who are in crisis and are living in East Somerset. A carer is someone who is unpaid and who looks after and supports a relative, partner, friend or neighbour. Carers can be of any age.

There are around 6.5 million carers in the UK today. That's about 1 in every 8 adults, and that doesn't even include the thousands of young carers. Carers save our country over £120 billion every year, but many carers are stretched to breaking point, trying to juggle work and family life. Many are on duty 24 hours each day, 7 days each week, 365 days each year and are unable to enjoy a life of their own. Many carers have given up work to be able to be a carer and many live with constant financial worries.

CARES has adopted pink tulips as a symbol of our aims. In the language of flowers they stand for CARE and ATTACHMENT.

CARES is non-commercial. We do not sell any products or services.
